The Geomagic Services Process

The Geomagic Services team employs a proven, multi-step process for ensuring project success. Some projects – such as those involving custom software development – warrant more detailed project analysis and definition, whereas other short-term projects may be summarized in a quote.

Step 1: Assignment

Upon first client inquiry, we assign a Geomagic Services program manager. This contact leads the process from start to finish as a single-point-of-contact. If a Statement of Work (SOW) or Request for Quote (RFQ) exists for the project, the team reviews and performs an initial project scope assessment.

Step 2: Discovery

Relative to a client’s knowledge and experience, appropriate time is spent discovering objectives and defining project goals. This step enables development of an effective plan to ensure project success. At this step, the Geomagic team may define an initial project scope in a refined statement of work. Geomagic may execute a pilot project on an as-needed basis. This approach helps to ensure full discovery of client workflow needs as well as requirements for downstream data accuracy and integrity.

Step 3: Requirements Planning

Geomagic Services may develop a mutually understood project plan based on requirements unearthed in the discovery step. A formal requirements document, either developed collaboratively or by the Geomagic Services team, may be a project deliverable and guides the project through execution and change orders.

Step 4: Change Order Review

Every project is subject to refinements. Geomagic Services employs a “change order” process for proposing and approving project revisions to ensure all parties agree on requirements revisions and potential cost and schedule implications.

Step 5: Project Execution

Geomagic Services follows steps 1 through 4 to ensure that the best possible results are achieved during execution. The assigned program manager keeps the project on track and reports project status to the client regularly. Project meetings may be conducted by the program manager at scheduled intervals as needed.

Step 6: Project Review

After a project is deemed complete, the team meets to review successes, lessons learned and to develop a project review report. This step can include site visits to or from the client location.
